Teal & Chunky Crochet Blanket

Can I tell you how soft and cozy this blanket is? I'm just in love!  πŸ˜

I think a blanket like this would make a great gift (to give and receive)  - what do you think?
Or am I just partial?

I'm debating if I should make a few and gift to close friends/family or if I should make a few and sell in my Etsy shop.

What do you think I should do?

Big, Beautiful, Chunky and Crooked

Quite a header right? Well it's true! My latest and greatest crochet project is big, beautiful, chunky and....crooked.

I've been pretty excited about this project just happily crocheting away each night. When I finished my 4th skein, sewed in my tails and then stepped back to admire my work I noticed it's completely crooked.

Guess that means I'm keeping this one for myself and starting a new one.

It's still pretty despite it's major flaw - it can never be folded into a nice neat pile.

I've strategically photographed it this way so you can't see the error πŸ˜‰.

There's beauty in imperfection. Right?

Thankful Thursday

I wasn't planning on blogging today but I saw Rebecca's post and felt inspired!

1.  This journal:
I bought it probably about 6+ months ago. It's been sitting on my desk staring me in the face since. Today is the first day I actually wrote in it.  And it felt good.

2. The rain today. Mother Nature watering my pepper and tomato plants.

3. My challenge group for July:
the ladies in the group keep me motivated & inspired to workout every day.

4. It's only the 6th day of the month and I already have two sales in!  πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ™ŒπŸΎ

5. One week of work and then it's vacation time (and it helps that I'm close to quota so perhaps I can relax and enjoy my vacay and not worry {too} much about work)!

6. The outlets opened near my house a few months ago - so me and along with everyone else in Montgomery County were there spending (literally) the day away on the 4th. I'm grateful I have the funds to do so and now I have a bunch of cute things to wear on my vacation (and to work).

7. I'm grateful for this quote: "Today is a good day for a good day". I have it hung on my wall so I can be reminded every day.

What are you grateful for this week?

WIP: Midwife Blanket

Hello Friends!

I'm getting some crochet mojo back! I've been slowly picking up my hook and getting some stitches in here and there, and it feels good!

One of my goals last year (which I failed to do - so I'm taking it on again this year) is to create & donate some blankets to Project Linus.

I am determined to donate a few handmade blankets before the end of the year. I did make one last year and tucked it away somewhere...(aka I put it in a safe place and now I can't remember where that safe place is). I've started a second blanket I intend to donate called The Midwife Blanket

Have you seen Call the Midwife? It's a great show! You can binge watch on Netflix right now!

Meanwhile I'll keep on hooking!

Personal Development Books To Read

I did TERRIBLE with my reading goals last year. I don't think I read even5 books last year - oooh the shame of it all!

I really think by me not blogging and having someone (you) to hold me accountable for my reading goals - things really fell by the wayside.

This year I'm going to make up for it!
I have pre-planned to read AT LEAST 6 of these 8 PD books (on top of all the chicklit I want to read)

All of which I have picked for myself and ones that I have been wanting to read (all of last year).

I'm starting with The Four Agreements. I'm about 70% in to it now. It just makes SO much sense.
I'll do a blog post on it later so keep an eye out for that!

Also on my list:
- The Miracle Morning
-Daring Greatly
-The Happiness Project
-Get Over Your Damn Self
-Rising Strong
-You Are a Badass
-The Power of Now

I hope to end 2017 a more developed person than I have started it to be!

What PD books have you read and recommend?
What PD books do you want to read?

Vision Board 2017 - SUCCESS!!!

Remember I told you I was going to go to a Vision Board Party in this Post?

Well I went and it was FANTASTIC!

here's my board so far:

I put everything with Push Pins instead of gluing things down so I can change or board at any time.

It was a great together with these fantastic ladies.
Thanks to Maria for hosting!

Caron Cake Tunisian Crochet Blanket

Caron Cakes were all the rage a few months ago -- are they still a popular thing?

I picked up about 5 skeins of the Faerie Cake and have been slowly adding rows to this beauty:

My original idea was to do a Trip Around The World Blanket but as I got a few rounds into I decided -- It was UGLY!

Look see for yourself:

Not cute right?

So I unraveled and started again:

And every time I get a spare moment I do a few loops whenever I can.

It is a really enjoyable blanket to make. I know I'll be sad whenever this project comes to an end.

Hanging Herb Garden

Another bright idea brought to you by: Pinterest 😼

I have been dying over this pin for ages so I finally made it to Ikea to make my own Hanging Herb Garden:

Great for a small spaces and now I have access to fresh herbs every day!

Here's what you need to make your own:

Fintorp Rail from Ikea
Fintorp Hooks ... also from Ikea
Fintorp Utensil Holder...from ... you guessed it - Ikea!

I bought the herbs from the grocery store - your store probably has them to you just have to keep an eye out for them. Usually in the fresh food area with the veggies.  I picked: mint, thyme, rosemary, basil, parsley and going to add cilantro soon.

Pick a sunny area (close to the window) get your leveler out (or eyeball it like I did), screwdriver/drill and boom - in less than 10 minutes you have a quick and cute wall garden!

Vision Board Party!

I've been invited to a vision board party on Friday.

I'm super excited! I've never put one together for myself but I've heard it's a great way to manifest what you want from the universe.

So far I've picked out the board itself (a cute cork board with frame):
Purchased at Michael's with coupon of course!
But now I need to start gathering ideas as to what I need to put on my board...aka what do I want to manifest in 2017?!?!

Some of my ideas so far:

Have you made a vision board before?
Any suggestions/ideas/comments?

One of my new mottos for working out: Never Miss a Monday!

Starting the week off a hot sweaty mess - who doesn't want that?!

my serious face after finishing Plyo Fix Extreme.

Before my workout had to start with this bad news:
No more Energize. Very Very sad story.

Considering 21 Day Fix Extreme? Let me know! We can be accountability partners :)
Challenge Pack available here (awesome deal)

I'm a BeachBody Coach!

So one thing I took on in 2016 was Beachbody.

I started with 21 Day Fix and was hooked.
I have since done rounds of 21 Day Fix Extreme, 22 Minute Hardcore, The Master's Hammer and Chisel and PiYo.

I have lost 25lbs just by using the portion containers most days (let's be real - I still love cheetos, cupcakes and margaritas) and working out 30-45 minutes today in my home office.

I've become since a believer I've decided to become a Beachbody Coach!

And have become a workout selfie nut:

Are you into Beachbody and/or considering it?

Right now Beachbody is doing an AWESOME special right now where you can get ALL ACCESS to ALL the programs for just $99 a year.

Check it out HERE. This promo is being offered until 2.28.17

Check out my Beachbody page and if you have any questions shoot me an email or leave me a comment below!

My Wall Gallery

I've always wanted to do a wall gallery in my home. I'd drool over all the beautiful ones on pinterest for YEARS.

But ...
I'm TERRIBLE at hanging things on the wall. In all the homes I've lived in I have never even hung a photo (well in my college dorm Tom Welling DID hang on my wall for a semester or two).

In the past two years I have managed to hang a few things on the walls [thank you Command Strips] and have been pleased with that - but on the last day of last year I decided to go balls to the wall and hang a whole WALL GALLERY:

Finds from: Esty, World Market,Vacations in past (London and Paris), Mixtiles and frames from Michael.

I love it.
Absolutely love it.

2017 Already?!

Hi Gals.

2017 is here already!
Two...going on three weeks already into the new year. I just can't believe it.

I have not blogged in over a year. We all know blogging takes a lot of time and I wasn't committed to doing that last year...and I'm still not ready to jump back into blogging on a regular basis again this year. What I enjoyed about blogging in the past years was not only the writing of my own posts, reading the comments but reading your blog posts and leaving my own comments and that's all so time consuming!

This year I "plan" on blogging - just infrequently which probably goes against all the blogging rules. So I hope you check back from time to time!

Happy 2017 Blogging Buddies!
