WIP Wednesday ::: Black, White and RED all over!

Q: What's Black? White? and...Red all over?!

A: My new WIP is:

This is "Trip Around the World Throw" and the pattern can be found HERE for free! Free I tell ya!

The stitch is Tunisian Crochet and once you get the hang of it - it's really easy and quite enjoyable (tip: watch THIS video ... that's how I learned how to do this stitch).

I plan on making this an extra big throw, so you may see this WIP a lot... Like a lot a lot. If you follow me on Instagram you may already be tired of looking at it!

If you're not following me (go do so now) and/or here's more photos here:

Happy Hookin'!

Virtual Coffee

Happy Tuesday. Glad to see you survived Monday.
Ready for some Virtual Coffee?
Today I'm just having a regular Breakfast Blend K-cup...Giant Brand (I'm on a budget...ok more like I'm broke but what-eves).
Have you your cup of coffee yet? Ready to chat?
So this weekend we went with the bride Jenn dress shopping. She looked gorgeous in everything. I even got a little tingle in my throat when she tried on her now #1 pick. I'm very happy her. I did have that brief thought "I'd like to be a bride one day...." but that thought vanished just as quickly as it entered my head. Am I the only one who is always a bridesmaid and never the bride?
I mailed off the baby blanket I was debating on if I should gift or not. I assume the mother-to-be has received it by now but I have no idea. Then, last night I had a dream she found out she was having a girl instead of a boy and I was panicked like "should I ask for the blanket back so I can make her a pink version." The blanket I made and sent is clearly baby boy inspired.  Giving out handmade gifts is stressful to me...and for me to have a "dream" about it --- which btw I hardly ever dream --- ugh.
I've been Anxious Annie lately. Last week I nearly had a full on anxiety attack. It took forever to get my heart to slow down and to stop sweating.  My thoughts were just all over the place - and the trigger this time: WORK. I have to say this new job has been 75% less stressful than my last BUT since I've arrived here (in February) the Admin Assistant quit...the General Sales Mgr quit...and NOW: the REGIONAL mgr quit. WTF? It makes me worry - do these people know something I don't (well I talk to the AA still after she left she became in instant friend during the few months I did get to work with her) but the fact that the upper levels quit scares me. Plus the thought of new people coming in - TERRIFIED. What if a new manager comes in and wants to bring in all their own people? and BOOM. I'm out of a job (it IS typically for that to happen especially in sales).  Would this give you anxiety too? Or am I over reacting?
Ok. All this re-thinking of stuff is giving me a bubbling in my stomach. So I'm going to end this coffee break now and try to take my mind off things.
What's going on in your world?

Affirmations ::: Pinterest Edition

So. I'm an affirmations type of gal. I NEED them (and I have the Five Languages of Love test to prove it)!

One of the things that warms my cold cold heart are likes and pins (and repins) from Pinterest of my handmade stuff I post on this here blog (yes...I pin my own stuff...I'm not embarrassed. If you DON'T pin your stuff you're missing out! So much traffic comes from Pinterest!)

I want to share with you my most pinned items (as I type this I realize this may come off as a ploy to fish for more pins and likes - but that's not my intention. This is a purely selfish bragtastic post and affirmation post).

So. There you have it!  Seeing this makes me feel all warm in fuzzy inside :)

Happy Monday!

Q: What do you do with your books after you are done reading them?

If it's a paper copy of the book ... they tend to lay around for a long time - mainly because I'm lazy. But also because I don't have book shelves and my book bins are FULLLL.  Lately all my books have been   either Kindle books or Audible books so it keeps my bookmess down to a minimum.

What do you do with yours when you're done?

What I'm LOVING Wednesday and OH, How PINteresting

Howdy folks.
Happy Hump Day!

Let's link up with Michelle and Jamie

I'm LOVING all the great feedback I got on my "BABY BABY BABY Blanket" and my "Baby Blues (and white) Blanket" both blankets will make mommies and babies happy (I hope).
I'm LOVING how "My Crafty Crochet" page turned out here on blogger. It's set up just the way I wanted it. I think I visit it more than anyone else. Hey - no shame in my game!
I'm LOVING that I got some shopping in with my mom and picked up some really cute dresses for just $20 from Macy's...I'm still wishing I got that amazing blue purse I saw but it was waaaay over budget. I'm still dreaming about it though!
I'm LOVING that I get to see Jenn's wedding ring this weekend in real time :) and to see her try on some dresses. YAY!
I'm LOVING Pinterest!
All pins below (and all my pins in general) can be found HERE.

Teaser Tuesday ::: The Cuckoo's Calling

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme,
hosted by MizB of Should be Reading.

"Strike absorbed the impact. Heard the high-pitched scream and reacted instinctively: throwing out a long arm, he seized a fistful of cloth and flesh; a second shriek of pain echoed around the stone walls, and then, with a wrench and a tussle, he succeeded in dragging the girl back on to firm ground."

In case you missed it: the reason why I bought this book ... HERE

Ok... So Let Me Ask You a Question ...

Q: Is it okay to send a gift of a handmade blanket for a baby shower to someone you only kinda know?

Here's the back story - short version:
I was invited to a baby shower by an ex co-worker / acquaintance. I don't know her THAT well - so I'm iffy on if I should send this:

Or if I should just send a gift card and/or should I send both (I keep saying "send" because I'm going to miss the shower)?

She's a great girl. We've been out in groups for happy hours a few times and she came out for my bday. But I'd hate to send this and she'd be like "WTF...?!" or think it's lame.

What do you think I should do? I did make this for her - I just don't know if I should send it...

I Admit...I Bought This....

...because it's by J.K. Rowling.
I had never even HEARD of this book before yesterday when I saw the "news" that this book was in fact pinned by J.K. Rowling herself.

I'm about six chapters in and so far ... so good.
I'll have a tease for you next week!
Have you/Will you read this?
Do you buy books strictly because of who the author is? Or does the story have to appeal to you too?

W...W...W... & Oh, How Pinteresting Wednesday

W...W...W... hosted by Should Be Reading

To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions...

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you'll read next?

#1: What are you currently reading:

I'm still plugging away at Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin.
Slow but steady wins the race....right? Hopefully I can finish this before the end of summer!

#2 What did you recently finish reading?

Joyland by Stephen King.
Loved the writing, love the story, liked the characters...I just wanted more action, spook/scary or thrilling/excitement...something.

#3 What do you think you'll read next?

I DUNNO! I need help. I'm in search of a good book. Please recommend something!
What are YOU Reading?!
